Acecap 75-Pack Systemic Insecticide Tree Implants for Control of Tree Pests, 3/8-Inch

Acecap 75-Pack Systemic Insecticide Tree Implants for Control of Tree Pests, 3/8-Inch

Acecap 3/8" systemic insecticide tree implants contain 98.9% Acephate for control of many tree pests including aphids, borers (including Emerald Ash Borer), gypsy moths, bagworms, webworms, budworms, cone worms, maple worms, oak worms, cankerworms, casebearer, citrus blackfly, tent caterpillar, elm leaf beetle larvae, honey locust mite, lace bug, leaf folder, leaf miner, Nantucket pine tip moth larvae, pine needle miner, scale (crawlers), thrips, whitefly, wooly adelgid and Zimmerman pine moth. One treatment provides season-long pest control in deciduous trees and up to two years control in evergreen trees. For use in ornamental trees only, with a diameter of at least 3 Inch. Not for use in edible fruit and nut trees or flowering crabapple trees. These small plastic implants contain dry-powder chemical that is double-encapsulated, meaning no exposure to the applicator or the environment. Acecaps are easily installed by tapping the implants with a hammer and bolt or dowel rod into pre-drilled 3/8" diameter holes in the lower tree trunk at 4 to 6 inch spacing. The cartridge head securely plugs the small wound made to the tree trunk and the active layer of cambium will soon grow over and close the implant site. Under normal moisture conditions, the chemical will move throughout the entire tree within 3 to 4 days for quick control. 10 Acecaps will treat a 14 inch diameter tree.

Merit 0.5 Granular Systemic Insect Control - 30 Pound Bag

Merit 0.5 Granular Systemic Insect Control - 30 Pound Bag

Merit Granular (by Bayer) is the longest lasting broad-spectrum grub control product on the market. Both curative and preventative, Merit Granules holds a ten-year record of 90% effectiveness on virtually every species of turf and ornamental pests. Merit even improves the quality of your turf. Merit 0.5 G is for broadcast application on and around turfgrass, ornamentals, trees, shrubs, flowers, groundcovers, and in and around commercial or residential buildings. Apply Merit 0.5 G uniformly over area being treated with normally used granular application equipment. Both drop-type and rotary-type spreaders may be used. Avoid using a spreader which would apply the product in narrow bands. For optimum control, product application should be followed by mechanical incorporation, irrigation, or rainfall, to help move the active ingredient into the soil. Merit 0.5 G insecticide attacks the nervous system in insects and prevents normal transmission of nerve impulses. This mode of action results in disruption of normal behavior; treated insects stop feeding, do not reproduce and eventually die. Merit 0.5 G insecticide is most effective when applied prior to, or just after, egg lay. In most cases, adult emergence occurs in early summer, often after significant rainfall or irrigation, followed by mating and egg laying. This usually continues for four to six weeks. Under normal circumstances, Merit 0.5 G insecticide will provide residual white grub control for four months or longer in turf.
